1. Introduction

Photo Cleaner ("the App") helps you review and maintain your photo library. The App can group similar photos, identify duplicate items, show media categories such as screenshots, videos, Live Photos, selfies, portraits, and spatial media, calculate storage usage, delete items you choose, and compress large photos or videos.

This Privacy Policy explains what information is accessed, how it is used, and how it is protected.

2. Photo Library Access

The App requests access to your photo library so it can scan, display, organize, delete, and compress the items you choose to manage.

3. Local Processing

Photo analysis, similarity grouping, duplicate detection, storage calculation, thumbnail loading, and compression are processed on your device. The App does not upload your photos, videos, thumbnails, similarity data, or scan results to our servers.

If an original photo or video is stored in iCloud Photos and is not available locally, iOS may download it from Apple's services so the App can display or compress it. That transfer is handled by Apple, not by us.

4. Information We Do Not Collect

5. Information That May Be Processed

5.1 On-device app data

The App may store local cache data such as scan progress, file-size results, cleanup history, compression history, app language preference, and membership state. This data is used to make the App faster and to show your cleanup statistics. It remains on your device unless iOS or Apple services back up app data according to your device settings.

5.2 Purchases and subscriptions

If you purchase a membership or subscription, payment and entitlement processing is handled by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We do not receive your full payment card details.

5.3 Diagnostics

Apple may provide crash logs or diagnostic information if you have enabled sharing analytics with developers in iOS settings. These reports are used to improve stability and do not include your photo library contents.

5.4 Support email

If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, device details, screenshots, or logs. We use that information only to respond to your support request.

6. Deleting and Compressing Photos

When you delete items in the App, iOS moves them to the Photos app's Recently Deleted album, where they may remain recoverable for a limited period according to Apple's Photos behavior.

When you compress a file, the App saves a smaller new file to your photo library. Depending on the selected workflow, the original may be moved to Recently Deleted so storage can be reclaimed.

7. Data Retention

Local cache and history remain on your device until removed by the App, the operating system, or app deletion. Support emails are retained only as long as needed to provide support and maintain reasonable business records.

8. Children

The App is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because photo processing is local and we do not operate a photo-upload service, we do not knowingly receive children's photo library contents.

9. Security

We design the App so photo processing happens locally on your device. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but limiting processing to the device reduces exposure of your media.

10. International Users

The App may be available in multiple regions. Any information you choose to send by email, or any data handled by Apple services, may be processed according to the policies and infrastructure of those service providers and applicable law.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App changes or legal requirements evolve. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
